Tankies made me realize how messed up politics can be

Sure they have irrational beliefs but I’ve also talked to people who have rational ones but defend and identify with them in a irrational way.

In short, politics is about belief. Anything against that belief tends to be taken as a personal attack rather than valid criticism.

Their takes are wild: we’re propagandists for dredging up well-reported facts. Calling out their failure to cite a law to substantiate their claim that something is illegal means I’m pushing “dogshit agitprop”. Their integrity is sorely lacking: feels over facts.
