Not to say that this is particularly hard to believe, but do you have a source?

20·5 days agoMullvad is a bit better if you’re hyper concerned about privacy but it doesn’t have port forwarding support so it’s worse for torrenting.

23·9 days agoInteresting read but I can’t think of much of a reason to ever use nonstandard drive letters except to maybe hide malware or something.

19·10 days agoGog (and to an extent, itch) are also competing with steam but while they might not be coming close to their market share they don’t draw anywhere near the ire that epic does and just similarly just rely on their strengths.

Depends on how expensive it is, what kind of license the paid version has, how willing I am to support the creator. Music I’ll try and get from bandcamp or failing that an actual cd from their site of I really must. TV I’ll usually just look harder and settle for a worse quality than I’d prefer.

391·23 days agoThey want to improve your life by giving you something which is not broken and assumedly works better than whatever you’re using now. You are rejecting that because of your insistence that things must be old. They know you will never get it for yourself, and maybe they think you’re just being cheap. It probably hurts them seeing you use what to them looks like a piece of crap. It’s really hard to say without knowing what the actual items involved are In just speculating.

Technology@lemmy.world•Jack Dorsey Releases Vine Reboot Where AI Content Is BannedEnglish
1·23 days agoI don’t agree that having multiple definitions for something makes it subjective, what it makes it is vague. If you provide one one of those definitions to someone and ask them if something meets it (and for the sake of argument they have full knowledge of how it was created) they should always be able to come to the same conclusion. As I understand it, and the definitions you provided, what makes something subjective is whether it will be unique to the person evaluating it. If my definition of good art is it makes ME feel something, somebody else could look at the same thing I do and come to a different conclusion. You couldn’t build a model that filters out bad art based on that subjective definition. All I’ve been trying to say is that whether something is AI is something that is definable but apparently I’m being too fucking stupid to make that clear.

Technology@lemmy.world•Jack Dorsey Releases Vine Reboot Where AI Content Is BannedEnglish
11·24 days agoWhether AI art is good is subjective, it will change based on the whims of who you ask and cannot be defined. Whether something is AI generated depends on what definition you use but given a definition it either fits it or it doesn’t. It’s not subjective it’s just a little broad. As far as it being hard to detect that has no bearing on whether it is or isn’t AI.

Yeah the benefit of a used furniture furniture depot type place is you can try out a bunch ane find one that’s comfortable for you/fits your height etc
