  • It’s not so much about washing hands next to each other itself, but rather that that never happens here. Either you wash your hands alone or next to somebody your gender. It feels weird because bathrooms have become safe spaces of sorts for each gender, that are enclosed rooms.

At a concert the bathroom area is just the entire concert area and then the bathrooms. In the coed bathrooms pictured above the sinks are located in what is very much still “The bathroom”.

It’s not that there’s anything actually wrong with the coed design, but it’s just sort of a culture shock thing. It feels weird to me because it’s a novel situation I hadn’t ever found myself in before. I would also argue that people wouldn’t like it because of that alternate usage bathrooms have evolved to be, which is that gender-separated safe space. A small group of women could separate from the men they’re with and have a private conversation at a social venue for example.

  • I mean you can’t sell this thing on the artwork if it was AI generated man.

I’m not going to lecture you on the ethics and merits of AI in game design but I will just say that from a personal standpoint, I can tell immediately that this looks like vibecoded slop. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. Maybe you hand built all the games backend systems and just used AI for the UI or whatever, but with the absolute inundation of “Look what I made” projects that were made 100% by an AI and not the user, I would definitely echo what another user said and be upfront about how much of this was just AI generated because it sets appropriate expectations for your potential new users. And if you stick with it long term, consider commissioning some hand made art assets to make it stand out.

Good luck with your project though

  • No, no moral high ground or grandstanding…just reality

No it’s 100% grandstanding, sorry. Thats the reality, if you’d care to join me in it.

What I’m pointing out is that, at the end of the day, it’s not your lump of clay to mold even if you disagree with the way it’s being molded.

This is not insight. You’re using so many words to say nothing of any substance. The fact that you’re saying this in response to the backlash is an implication that this is a reason people shouldn’t complain. If that’s not what you meant, you’d wouldn’t have said anything at all.

Hmm seems everyone is living in the same reality as you though, so your comment has no substance or meaning other than some weird self-enlightened moral grandstanding.

This type of pseudo-intellectual bullshit is the exact type of thing I’m talking about lol

People are absolutely justified and allowed to criticize the greed of this company. Part of living in objective reality is that you reap what you sow. Everything you just said is not really relevant to that simple fact.

  • I’m not a big fan of this sort of pseudo-philosophical contrarian fence-sitting.

I mean sure, he’s not technically wrong, but it also implies that while Developers have the freedom to perform these rug-pulls (they do), the author simultaneously wags their finger at the people who have equal freedom to react the way they have.

Developers (companies) are not entitled to be free from criticism or backlash for acting shitty.
