I’m open to alternatives, that’s the whole point. I don’t think imprisonment is right, and it doesn’t work regardless. Obviously this isn’t a first transgression punishment, but how would you deal with a person that refuses to contribute and only takes, despite being fully able to? This is a good discussion

To each as required, from each as able is more arnarchistic than communist. It’s the attempt of one in group to obtain and retain that power of expulsion that leads to a power structure.

People downvoting you don’t have any experience with organized theivery purporting itself as a custom. Plenty of respectable Romani that don’t act like con artists and crooks, but there are also plenty still causing the stigma to remain. Especially in Eastern Europe.
