Couldn’t find my drink when I was at work, found it…
Also ignore the spring pollen in the south it gets bad.
I actually use ai on a daily basis. Not LLM’s mind you, those tend to be garbage. But where ai actually shines is automating mundane tasks. I trained it on how I like to color grade my photos and videos, and now instead of spending hours, sometimes days, for bigger projects color grading, now it’s 30 minutes to an hour.
So yes the majority of the ai use cases will fizzle out, but it will stick around in areas where it automates workflows.

You are correct that Canon and Brother tend to be the best straight forward printers. Brother is better for laser printing and Canon is better for ink jet printing. If you go ink jet go with individual cartridges instead of the combined cartridges it’s way less fuss.
If you can do laser the basic Brothers just work. We had one in our woodshop for almost a decade. Sawdust spray paint etc. and it just did not care. It didn’t end up dying even, we just swapped it for a color version, and we’re on year 4 with that one.

My SO and I split when we ended up going to university. Our universities were a 7 hour time difference and we both knew, that just wasn’t going to work. Our last date was updating each other’s dating profiles. She found a guy, and I was at their wedding. Super cool dude and I’m extremely happy for her.

The moto I live my life by is “The day you stop learning is the day you become obsolete.”
The one I wish more people took to heart is, “After everything has been said, and everything has been heard, these three remain: faith, hope, and love. The greatest of these is love.”
Just love each other, that’s all I’m asking for.
I scheduled vaccine appointments with my Dr. My parents were anti-vax and once I was old enough I went and did it myself.

14, rural communities have different rules I guess. My grandpa at 6 put me behind the wheel of his F350 while pulling a 20’ trailer so he could stand in the trailer and buck hay for all the livestock.
So by the time I got my license I already knew how to control a car and just had to learn the rules of the road.
This is the type of hyper fixation knowledge I’ve come to expect from the ADHD community.

Everyone knows dihydrogen monoxide is water, they’re not going to ban it. What we need to ban is hydric acid, that’s the most dangerous chemical in the world.

So I’m someone who actually designs and deploys speakers in large scale applications like arenas and performance halls. There is some truth to making all of the frequencies arrive at the same time based on your listening spot. However the “peak of an average waveform” is bullshit. The reason why time alignment is a thing is because of 2 reasons.
Is any of this important? No. Sound (any wave really) will merge with other frequencies and produce a unified wave as long as the drivers are close enough together. So as long as the distance between the tweeter and the woofer is within half of the wavelength of the crossover frequency, it literally does not matter. The crossover’s between the tweeter’s and the woofer’s in most speakers are typically within 800-2.4khz, or 17”-5.6” (43cm-14cm) in wavelength. As long as your drivers are within that distance of each other the sound will converge.
And if it wasn’t, we can delay the electrical signal in the amplifier to make it all line up!!
As someone who designs audio equipment, I hate audiophiles, they make a mockery of my profession.
It genuinely depends on what industry you are in. Every single job I’ve had has either been calling the companies in the area and letting them know I’m moving and want to have employment lined up before I move, or by calling a company and letting them know a shift in management has occurred and I’m looking to transition to a different company. The most I’ve had to do was email a resume, and if there’s an interview it’s a lunch interview that’s super casual.
Basically any trades based industry still operates that way, because most trades are still local businesses. When you get into the national or international businesses they streamline the humanity out of it.

I posted this a while ago, but my ex and I ended up on a 7 hour time difference and that level of LDR is really hard, so our final date was updating each other’s dating profiles. It was very amicable, simply recognizing that it was the situation not the person that caused us to not be together.

I’m ok with things relying on ads to make a product free. Someone has to pay for a product or service, if I don’t want to pay for it, then show me an ad and let someone else pay for it. The thing that overwolf and more specifically curseforge do that keeps them out of the enshitification category for me is they simplify modding of games.
I’ve been around since the early days of video game modding and know how hard it used to be. They have streamlined it to the point that if someone has created a mod it is a simple button click to download, and install, and then keep the mod up to date. You can even create and share collections of mods and mod packs. And if a modder has added a donate button, it’s a single click to donate to the modder. It’s everything I want out of the modding community with none of the headache, and it’s been like that for years.

Voicemeeter
Overwolf
Reaper
VLC
PCPartpicker
Ninite
There’s probably some others I’m missing.

I’m about 6ish years away from retirement (the goal is Dec 31 2031). I’ve been doing a lot of work in stock markets as a result of preparing for it. The thing with the stock market is you only lose money when you sell. If a bubble pops, but you don’t sell and you keep it in there, you will eventually make your money back and recover. Diversifying your portfolio also helps, if the housing bubble pops, the entertainment sector will likely grow because people need escapism. The AI bubble is huge right now and when that pops it will be worse than the dot com bubble, even though that bubble popped, websites are still around and that industry is larger today than it has ever been. Like websites AI is here to stay, and will eventually become larger than it is right now. It’s just time, wait it out and it will normalize.
I had faked my way into learning how to do projection mapping for an arena tour, and was on my first concert tour.
I work in events, last act was on the stage, so I started breaking down the equipment at the control booth that the last act wasn’t using. Pretty standard affair.
Apparently because I could be seen by the audience it was disrespectful to the act on stage and I was fired. I have continued to break down equipment that isn’t being used in every job since, and no one has batted an eye. He was a dick employer so I guess that makes sense.
Technically I have multiple TV’s only because I wanted multiple large high resolution screens for my computer. I don’t actually use them as TV’s.
