Is piped still working?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Which company has a better reputation Lenovo or ASUS?
7·2 months agoNo. Lenovo is really good. Try buying on Black Friday or Christmas, they usually have offers. Also Lenovo has ‘Build your own spec’ kind thing for all their models. These are even cheaper. Also if you’re buying through their website, try staying in their cart page before checkout for about 5 mins, sometimes they will give you a small discount coupon, fearing you’re indecisive.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Which company has a better reputation Lenovo or ASUS?
181·2 months agoLenovo is cheaper than ASUS. Also I feel their Linux support is better than Asus’s. Recently installed an EndeavourOS on my friend’s Lenovo, and every single thing is working as expected.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Probably a dumb question, but: do I need to do anything to my media drive when swapping from Windows?
2·2 months agoI was having problems with NTFS HDDs when I was dual booting. Needing to get into windows for solving them. Then I ditched Windows, reformatted my drives to EXT4 and never looked back.
But now I am using EXT4 with LUKS for encryption.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Probably a dumb question, but: do I need to do anything to my media drive when swapping from Windows?
12·2 months agoNTFS reads/writes fine on Linux. But if anything goes wrong then you might need a utility to fix it (Mostly caused by sudden unplugging). If you have the option, I would suggest you format and the media drive in EXT4. Mind you, EXT4 can only be read by Linux systems.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the android version of getting annoyed with windows and installing linux mint?
36·2 months agoIn my opinion, the worst Android flavor among the popular ones is the Samsung’s One UI. Notoriously bad in terms of tracking and telemetry. Yeah these Chinese ROMs are certainly bad, but where I am from, these are few and far between.
The worst thing about Samsung is the inability to install any Custom ROM despite it being a Snapdragon chip. Other manufactures like Xiaomi or OnePlus sometimes let’s users do that (albeit the process might be a little difficult).
But to answer your question, look into LineageOS’s supported device list. Pick a device from there and install LineageOS. Or better still by a Pixel (there are talks about a partnership with an unknown OEM and GOS, but no clear news on that as of yet) and install GrapheneOS.

AA might be digging their own grave. Overtime the knowledge gets accumulated in the hands of a select few and then they’re gonna block people from accessing pirated sites like AA or even worse, AA gets shutdown due to lack of traffic.
