I was only able to see communities from my feddit.org home instance in the side bar, but e.g. not this community on .ml. At first I thought it was an issue with my instance, however after reinstalling the older version it instantly reappeared. Both on iPhone 15 Pro. As well on my iPad Air M2.

For me, with the new build, I have issues with loading federated content (posts/communities in the side bar) from other instances. Also very slow loading of post thumbnails in the post list view. Reverted back to 813 and working fine again.

This can be reproduced by swiping away the app in the app drawer and restarting Mlem.

Someone has to make the actual contract with a hosting provider, unless there is a separate legal entity for this (e.g. Fediverse Foundation for feddit.org). Thus, someone needs to have skin in the game. I doubt someone would easily hand off the instance he/she is responsible for to a third party. At least I wouldn’t.

Quite a stupid idea honestly. You seem to not understand that someone needs to host the infrastructure that an instance runs on. So what you are saying is: give the admin rights to a server that someone pays money for, to some other person every few weeks. This just does not work.

For me on Mlem 2.3 (515) the feature to view the modlog seems to be broken. Tested both on my feddit.org user and on lemmy.ca. The log seems to be loading, but never actually finishes and thus shows nothing.

You are right, this is a 1:1 mirror of Reddit without any Lemmy user interactions. Since it is a one way mirror, any comments would not reach Reddit, I assume this is why it was decided to keep the communities closed down in such a way.

There are whole instances dedicated to mirroring Reddit. However a lot of people on the fediverse oppose such features, on my home instance eg. lemmit is filtered out of /all stream. https://lemmit.online/

If you always want the bleeding edge stuff, get on the Testflight. If you want only occasional updates with urgent fixes or thorough tested releases, the Appstore version is better suited. I used to use the Testflight but have since switched to the regular version and it is quite stable.
