I can make this one switch easier than the traditional ballerina version.
*Looking at it more, I can see both directions at the same time. That’s trippy.
You can dance now, too. This isn’t footloose.
And Sean Bean’s name should rhyme.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.ml•[Solved] Any ideas how to fix this DirectX9.0c error?
3·il y a 8 joursI can’t remember the hard way to do it with wine, but if you set it up to play through proton, protontricks is an app that will help you easily install these sorts of dependencies. Just find the game your trying to fix, select default wine prefix, install windows dll, then pick what’s missing.
I think it’s mostly just winetricks, tbh, but set up to more easily find the relevant directories used by proton. Never used Lutris much, so not sure how finicky it is to use winetricks on.

162·il y a 9 joursFunerals aren’t for the dead, they’re for the living. People should feel free to commemorate or memorialize their loved ones how they see fit. Demanding they do it your way is shitty and self centered.

6·il y a 13 joursI’m not claiming there’s no chance of a true AI ever being created, but even a cursory understanding of how llms work is enough to know it won’t ever lead to anything more than the text-generator it is. It might be a part of the process leading to the former, but it’s simply not enough on it’s own. Treating it otherwise just plays into the hands of the techbros trying to upsell the lie.
I’m no expert, but I know a bit from experience. For starters, Lemmy isn’t one single platform, it is made up of many different instances. Instances are the domains used to access content in the fediverse (lemmy.world, lemmy.ca, etc) using Lemmy. Each instance is separate, owned and run by different people or groups (the admins). As a user of an instance, we view and interact with content exclusively through the instance we’re signed into, so a URL like the one you posted is useful information, but forces a user not on that instance to modify it to make it usable on their own. The developers of Lemmy helpfully created the shortcut I used (adding a ! in front of the community) that any user can click and be sent to the given community through their current instance.

181·il y a 13 joursSo when we’re not using fiction to judge the present, we’re instead rewriting fiction to fit the present? I have a good idea - stop forcing your conception of either through such a narrow frame of view.
Skynet was exactly what it was shown to be because it’s fiction and that’s how fiction works. And llms have no chance of becoming anything similar, regardless of what fools or charlatans proclaim. Neither inform or contradict the other.
!imsorryjon@lemmy.world is instance agnostic, fyi.
Even then, covering removal costs is good. I’d expect most corpos to fight even providing that.
