The only time I’ve been stung by a bee is when I was little and walking outside bare foot and stepped on one. I’ve been stung by wasps for things like being outside or being inside when a wasp got in the house.
Not personally interested in any remaining games but wanted to support that you’re doing this. Thanks for sharing!

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•As US stock market hits new highs, 2 of 3 Americans are cutting back on spending, survey shows
701·23 days agoHow is the stock market increasing if people aren’t buying the things that those companies produce? I know the answer is because the stock market is based entirely on feelings and doesn’t have any basis in reality. But I still want to ask the question.
No mention of his portrayal of Sam Hell in the classic movie Hell Comes to Frog Town? For shame.
Not involved with anyone but when I was dating I have had several partners in the past that I’d watched porn with. It’s a fun way to spice things up.
Why in the world would you need a screen on a toaster?
I don’t date anymore, but I don’t subscribe to the idea that a lot of people think there is a formula to figure it out. I don’t hold a position of power or authority, so if there was a connection between me and another adult, the age doesn’t matter.

Technology@lemmy.world•Tinder takes action against AI profiles by making users scan eyes for “proof of humanity”English
191·2 months agoHaven’t used Tinder in a few years, but I guess I won’t be using it in the future. I’m not scanning my eye to use what is arguably the worst dating app.
I remember seeing this many years ago, but I only now realized that’s Ellie Kemper from The Office.
It doesn’t feel good to feel excluded. Being told that you’re not wanted in a space/event/group makes people have an immediate reaction. I will certainly let people have their spaces, I’m just offering why I think it happens. Like you saying about the friend that wasn’t invited. The friend being upset wasn’t upset because he wanted involved in that game. They were upset because they weren’t invited. That can make you feel unimportant, overlooked, or forgotten about. In terms of friendship, it’s better to make the offer and let the person make their own decision. Unless of course you have invited the person in the past and they like blew up at you for even asking about something you know they hate. In that case I’d say not inviting is best.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your thoughts on someone who has a mental age of 22 at 32 and hangs out with people in their 20's? is that creepy/predatory?
8·2 months agoAdults are adults. As long as no one was groomed from teenagers or power/authority issues. Adults can be friends with whatever other adults they want.
I still don’t understand, but now I’m a lot more interested in learning.
you_are_dust@lemmy.worldtoMental Health@lemmy.world•How can I help my friend when he doesn’t want help? Do I stop talking to him since he clearly doesn’t wanna talk?English
9·2 months agoYou can only help someone that is willing to change or accept help. It sounds like he might not be there. That doesn’t mean stop being a friend, but you need to make sure you’re not negatively affecting your mental health by putting too much into someone that isn’t ready. Be there but don’t jeopardize yourself.
I like challenging achievements if it’s in a game that I really like. I don’t like the “challenge run” type achievements. I don’t don’t really want to play the game like a speed runner.
I saw plenty of women on Bumble, when the women had to message first, that had “I don’t message first” in their bio. I gave up on the apps. They are the worst thing on the planet for your self esteem and mental health.
Agree 100%. I think the guy in the comic got his award prematurely. The rest of the sentence after “but” matters.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you created a simulation that resulted in the creation of countless intelligent beings would it be unethical to end the simulation?
12·3 months agoIf this is a way for our simulation creator to decide to pull the plug without guilt, I guess just go ahead and do it. I was holding out hope that this was all real, but it has been getting more clear that it’s not.

It’s just a lot easier than typing qctm and then needing to explain that stands for quietly chuckling to myself.
