Even if the demand from data centers goes down, there will be a lot of pent up demand from everything else. And AI isn’t going away, even if OpenAI et al. stop their mad buildout. I think DRAM is going to be very profitable for the foreseeable future.

This would work in winter and there are already heat pumps that use river water. Those are utility scale installations, though, so they don’t just pop up overnight. And they’ll be pretty useless in summer, when the air is hotter than the water.

Maybe these were standardized when people were smaller and less fat.
