6·3 months agoSwitching their applications while still on Windows 10 to something that works on Linux is the best start to the transition. That way you are not learning a new OS and applications when you switch to Linux.
One of the best advice I have ever got is when you talk to people is ask their names after giving yours. It turns people you meet into the start of being friends. It shows you care to know more about them.
At the end of the day you make social hobbies happen and the friends come with that

31·4 months agoTrue enough the idea is to be long gone by the time something goes down. I’m not saying I would scream in a crowed but just quietly walk up and tell father/husband. I mean if wasn’t being creepy why would he be wearing a hidden camera bon his face.

132·4 months agoI think the plan at this point if you catch some asshole wearing smart glasses. You walk up to the biggest dude around and tell him that the guy is recording his kids or wife with his glasses being creepy.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•is the barter system the peak of economics?English
2·4 months agoMoney is not the problem if it stays a representation of work. money being you used as a commodity that can be traded is the problem. That’s how you get parasites that exploit and feed off others labor.
Bartering is just the stock market trying to get what you have to what you need. Making multiple trades to get what you want and your not going to bring all those things for each trade. Then you are going to bring a representation of the trade and we are right back to money again.
I would say Diablo II still holds up if you put a CRT shader over the game. It is such a good game.

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Valve reportedly almost delisted Rainbow Six Siege from Steam after Ubisoft attempted to sell it cheaper on UplayEnglish
7·4 months agoThe market share is not the issue when they make the product. Taken to the extreme they sell their game at $200 on steam and $30 their store only. We now have effective consoles on PC with first party exclusives. Like I said find me proof of them doing this with third party stores and I will be more up in arms. Right now it feels like a company signed a contract and now want out of it.

8·4 months agoIf it was another third party store yeah bad look since it was first party you can see ubisofts start of the enshittification. In the short term drive down the price to drive out all other third party resellers stores.
Then bam jack up the prices on first party after driving out all the competition. Then its just like streaming instead of 3 library’s you have 24+ and even higher prices. But if there was proof they did this to gog or another third party store then throw the book at them.
I just wish they would compete on features not so much price. Because while i like paying less for games. I have seen the amazon model of drive out everyone else with price with VC money then jack up the price. When we have less choice.

They have IRC, websites, .plan files for updates via finger, mailing and news servers.
