If you’ve ever used TikTok, Instagram, or X/Twitter, you will already be familiar with centralised social media.Centralised social media means big company owns the app, controls the software, and keeps all your data.
Why no mention of Friendica? There’s a subset of people whom use Facebook who hardly enjoy Twitter-like platforms or even before Twitter went down, and I doubt they would also even like Bluesky (which isn’t part of the Fediverse yet) nor Mastodon. This mentions replacement even for TikTok but not for Facebook oddly enough, not saying it’s a bad post but just pointing out it’d be nice to have more mention of closer Facebook-like Fediverse platforms
