I want to learn Chinese by talking to China's locals. How do I do that online/elsewhere? I tried Red Note, but deleted it cuz TikTok-like platforms are super bad for me.

I’m from the US and can’t travel atm.

Extra points if it helps me learn about Chinese culture.

BTW, is anyone else barely able to memorize anything from Duolingo?

Duolingo suddenly changed the format of its lessons for me a couple of days ago and now it makes no sense.

It was kind of shitty before that happened, too. But at least I was using it consistently.

I’ll look into HelloChinese.
