She was mostly deaf and blind her last few years, but she managed perfectly fine on her own unless we moved stuff around. She could still see shapes, and when I turned to look at her she would still wag her tail, so not fully blind.

You never do, the hurt just gets less every year. I enjoy the FF universe, but that’s also a very good name for a Jack Russel. How old was he? They can typically live longer lives than most pure breeds iirc.

I can’t remember how we came up with her name, but it was Piper, we always called her boo-boo though. She was a rescue from the humane society, a German Shepard, Beagle, and we think heeler mix. She was 40# and loyal as hell.

Funny story there. Got him i wanna say 2006. Dad and sis went to the grocery store and they met some people giving away puppies. Rufus was the last one and the runt. He had been bullied by the rest of the litter to the point he had a bloody sore on his neck. And the little girl walked up to my sister and said “Here” and stuck him in her arms. Then they loaded up and left. Didn’t even ask if they wanted the dog. They had apparently been there a while giving them away and just wanted to be done with it.

He lived until 2021. So he lived to be 15.
