    Sucker Punch and D.E.B.S.

    no, it’s not cuz I’m a lesbian!

    …ok maybe it’s cuz I’m a lesbian

oh also TRON Legacy. “tHe PlOt iS sTuPiD” yeah no shit it’s TRON, the original was a glorified feature length CG animation test reel. I came here for pretty lights, cool motorcycles, Daft Punk, Jeff Bridges, and Olivia Wilde being hot, not for prestige cinema lmao

I’d give it to Interstella 5555, which is a full ass movie for Discovery, which might be their best album. Crazy that there are two options there though. I miss Daft Punk…

I was sitting here scrolling through the responses thinking about how I don’t have one, but yeah … TRON Legacy was good and nobody can convince me otherwise. I saw it in IMAX and it was an absolute visual treat, which was the whole point.

Sucker Punch was really underrated, I thought it was pretty good, overall. I thought the way they had the fantasy sequences line up with real-world events was pretty neat.

      Spoiler

That being said, in my opinion all the female leads seemed really infantile, like they were coded as young teenage girls, and that made it kind of weird with how much they were sexualized.

Yeah, Sucker Punch is definitely problematic to say the least. A lot of people said it tried to do girl power and ended up just being a neckbeard fantasy, and I can’t earnestly argue against that. That being said it was visually fun, the fantasy/reality dichitomy and “what’s actually real?” was interesting even if not perfectly executed, and what the hell, I was a nerdy gay teenager when I first watched it so of course I was gonna enjoy steampunk schoolgirl ninjas kicking ass.
