even keystrokes and cursor movements are encrypted.
awwwesome
Wouldn’t it be better to not record them in the first place instead of encrypting them?
its collaborative. the data needs to be sent somewhere, its going to be recorded somewhere
ie, you get to see your partners activity
Well clicks and keystrokes are kind of important when you’re working with a text editor with a graphical user interface. These actions have to be sent somewhere.
The team states on reddit:
By cursor movements we don’t mean mouse movement, but only the typing indicator. Mouse movement is not recorded. It is only shown when you choose to collaborate with someone by sharing access to view or edit the document to make the collaboration possible. Moreover, the contents of your documents including these movements, comments, and replies are end-to-end encrypted, so that no one, not even Proton, can see the contents of your documents.
@Nelizea @BlemboTheThird How can a Proton Team be on Reddit? They mustn’t be using their VPN for their Reddit account.
I’ve been unable to get into my own Reddit account because [insert every known VPN here] has been blocked by Reddit…
I am on reddit only with Proton VPN connected, using swiss servers.
This is great, one thing I was trully missing on there
Now we just need the option to purchase more storage.
That and an API (both things that there are search results implying they’re on the roadmap at some point) and my use would go way up I think.
It’s definitely not why I subscribed, but I’d definitely be all for options to use as many productivity tools as part of my subscription as possible.
It would be nice if it (at least optionally) was available separated into its own app at some point.
I am hoping for ProtonSearch one day.
Oh fantastic!!! This is exactly what was needed!
Sounds awesome. I just wonder If there is also OpenDocument support?
This is great news but I just have to say it: we need Proton Drive on Linux. Still very happy though.
Jesus Christ.
Andy should hire some bodyguards.
Oh huge, one step closer to replicating excel!
