    I like bicycles, whether electric or manual. I ride manual, don’t mind ebikes so long as they’re respectful.

    I also like motorcycles so 🤷

      I’ve seen videos on YouTube of cyclists tell people on e-bike to get off the bike lane. This was years ago though. I never seen this happen in real life living in NYC or visiting LA. This is the main reason why I asked.

        Your question is welcome. I was one of those people actually, about 5 years or more ago, because I was very uncomfortable with how quiet and how fast they moved.

        This was in new York city, where bike paths are narrow, so the e bikes passed very close and I really didn’t like it.

        But in the years since, living in California and Seattle, there’s more space and people are respectful to pass with distance. I don’t mind so much.

          Yeah, the bike lanes are really narrow in Manhattan, especially with streets going across.

          I had a few bad experiences with cyclists in Manhattan. This isn’t about e-bikes. Some Lance Armstrong fans think the narrow streets is built for them. I’ve seen them yell at older people on vintage bikes that just want to cruise by. At another time, they wanted to over take me, which is fine but not during rush hour and there is basically no room to let them pass.

          My sister lives in Irvine. It seemed like everyone had an e-bike. Their bike lanes can fit a car. It’s super nice. I wish I had a bike when I visited.

        There are modded bikes that don’t need pedal input to move forward, making them more like scooters and if they then go faster than the people on bikes I can imagine that feeling. But people don’t always realise if they are not in the bike lane, they are either between the pedestrians or between the cars. Their speed might be annoying but that doesn’t mean that the bike lane isn’t the safest place for them too.
