When I think about why I stopped using Reddit and didn’t just switch to the official app when they killed the API, I forget that the official app has ads.
Not just the normal corporate shilling posts but actual literal ads right in the app.
I’m sure you can pay to remove them but nah.
I would probably still be using reddit if they’d worked out a deal/way to show ads through third party apps…
I just can’t handle ads.
I pay to remove ads where I can; my point is just that my issue with Reddit was what they did to third party devs; not anything to do with ads
A year ago, sure. But the app-ocalyps was only one of many issues. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back. By now there are a shit ton more issues that could’be been my straw, even if they still supported my favourite app.
