[Edit: We are 11 people interested so far!]
Anyone interested? It’s very long in total (could be like 2k pages) and people probably dont read it linearly, but I figured it’d be cool to take up on it:)
So far, I’vs finished reading Section A and has been very informative. I’ve tried to keep notes of it in .md format here:
https://codeberg.org/BlastboomStrice/book-notes/src/branch/main/AFAQ-Summary.md
If this fails, maybe we could pick other smaller books, but me personally might not be able to participate (already reading afaq and another book).
sounds good to me :) How would the reading group be organized tho? i mean on which platform so we could actually share
Hmm maybe here like hexbear does?
Edit: rereading this I’d like to say that we ended up using both this post on lemmy and the /0 anarchism room on matrix to organise it:)
For those who aren’t aware of how Hexbear does stuff: reading groups are weekly/monthly/whatever Lemmy threads where whoever runs the group pings everyone in one of the comments. So basically once a week/months/whatever, you’d see a thread about AFAQ, and if you want you can sign up to get pinged.
Oh cool (I too wasnt very sure how they run them:)
good idea, should we make a new community on dbzer0 for reading theory, or tracking it in this comm?
I say keep it here unless this sub starts becoming too active, then you can split to a new comm
Will do, thanks.
I think a weekly book club style post would work specifically for this, but maybe an “anarchists book-club” comm would be good for going forward and exploring other works? I’d be into that.
If this one is a success I think a wider reading group community could work :)
I think doing it in this community is fine. IMO it would be cool for newcomers to see that there’s theory behind the praxis.
Cool, so a reading thread here about each week :)
Hmm, I’d probably start from here, see how it goes and if it’s too spammy then split it? (also instances with members not subbed to the reading communities might not see that community)
