More than 700 people have been arrested since it was banned as a terrorist group in early July, including 522 people arrested at a protest last weekend for displaying placards backing the group – thought to be the highest ever recorded number of detentions at a single protest in the British capital.
Decades down the road people will, rightfully, wear this kind of persecution as a badge of honor.
One day, everyone will have always been against this.
Authoritarianism is rising in Britain https://eurosjournal.com/difference-between-totalitarianism-authoritarianism-fascism/
Maybe when it all turns to shit, Yvette Cooper will be forced to resign. It’d be nice to be rid of her. She’s always been highly authoritarian, as well as a generally obnoxious, entitled, time-serving waste of space.
I love how being against a genocide is now illegal in half of " the west".
Great use of taxpayer money. Definitely nothing better to spend it on and no better people to be taking legal action against.
Absolutely no other social issues to tackle above this
You know there was once a time in my life where I could probably smugly sit here and talk about actual freedom. Talk about the first Amendment. Those years have passed now. Now I just feel empathy. Cuz we’re all going to hell together.
UK is turning into totalitarism
Can’t all the protesters support Palestine ActionS and sidestep the law?
The point is to protest the law, as well as the genocide.
Stopping people being slaughtered is more important than being able to put 2 specific words together.
The only excuse is if the arrests make the anti genocide protests more prominent.
Which it kimd of does. News on the arrests and progress of the prosecution is keeping this in the news cycle way longer than the original protest.
I feel safer already.
