    Very interesting. I’d never read about this before.

    I do recall Joseph Campbell and some others theorising that these places were sacred spaces, roughly the equivalent of a grand cathedral, which also had powerful sonic properties, at times.

    Indeed, it sounds like (NPI) our ancestors had rituals in which they’d gaze at the cave paintings by flickering fire and make appropriate sounds, or even perhaps early songs. I would guess it was a pretty awesome and remarkable experience!
