Shared between the two; Homemade bread, butter, American cheese slices, backyard eggs.

Left: scrambled eggs with giardiniera Right: fried eggs with smoked sausage.

This was not the plan. The plan got messed up when the dogs barked two hours after I went to sleep. After the digs barked I heard peopld talking. The one thing I should never hear from inside my house is people outside talking. I bolted out of bed and looked out the window to see that our only neighboring house was on fire.

Things got busy after that and I didn’t have time to make what I planned on. No one was home. The house was a complete loss.

Cost per person: less than $1

So the dogs barked for 2 hours and then there was a fire? Or did the dogs bark because they saw the fire? Hope the people have insurance and a good community to help them through this.

I had been asleep for just two hours. They barked once because of the people shouting outside. The people were trying to figure out if anyone was trapped inside. A few people have reached out for me to get their information to them. We didn’t ask about insurance. That house was paid off long ago and I’m a bit worried to find out the answer.

Thanks for clarifying. Possibly an electrical fire.

Sounds like you’re in a good neighborhood. Maybe someone will organize a fund for them. No one should lose their home.
