Do any archive sites work with NYT, WaPo, and other annoying sites?
archive.today and ghostarchive.org have stopped working for me. I get various errors.
Example - https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/26/climate/plutonium-nuclear-weapons-fuel.html
- https://archive.ph/kAAwA - “Not Found (yet?)”
- https://ghostarchive.org/archive/8EXIt - The page doesn’t load. All I get is the throbber.

I’ve switched to copying the article text into a spoiler in the post body. Only works if I can access the article in the first place of course.
Be the archive site you want to see in the world.
I think it’s better than submitting the archive link anyway. If you post the normal link you can see what other communities the article was posted to.

I don’t know the details but I’m pretty sure many more sites than the NYT and WaPo block it.

I just posted a variety.com link and is my custom inside my post I put:
Loading… - [archive.today link]
I assumed the archive link would probably be useless because it never stopped loading. But many minutes later I clicked it and it actually works.
