True but people found workarounds. I have had no issues after the initial wave of the issue.
If I remember correctly, they are not naming the file to the specific show or movie anymore.
Yes, I only have issues converting regular torrents in my specific language. New Mario Bros movie e.g.

Wait what? I tried a fire stick a few years ago and it was plastered with ads worse than anything. Even with the pfblocker ad blocker that kept the Roku clean.
Dunno if all the described changes have gone wide yet, but I’ve not had an ad on my Roku since I set up my pi hole. https://pi-hole.net/
IIRC I hid/disabled the recommendations row through the Roku settings.

My thoughts: just firewall the shit out of your tv, and change the def launcher.
I run an android tv box and jellyfin for local play with cloudstream+vpn for anything not locally downloaded
