The balloon thing is probably common, at least every dog I’ve lived with has been scared of them. I think it has to do with the way they move around, unnaturally floating, bobbing with the breeze. It’s unlike any creature found in nature. It’s almost ghostly.
Without an understanding that it’s just some latex filled with air, I get why they’d set off an animals “spooky” alarm.
Though she was cool with it until image went for a sniff and got zapped. I wouldn’t say it was all that strong (loud enough to be heard but it was still a balloon, right?)
I’m gonna go with balloons. not because they pop, but because she was a puppy and got he nose zapped by from static electricity.
