I’m really liking it because it’s just a smidge bolder/thicker than my other fonts, so works great on this smaller reader.

Is it made with AI?
I didn’t see any proof that it was made with AI. Not saying that I know 100 percent for sure, but I’m not gonna waste my time running around purity-testing every single thing that’s new. The font author documents a pretty normal font-development workflow:
Libron started as a modification of Readerly. (GitHub)
Readerly itself was derived from the open-source Newsreader typeface. (GitHub)
For Libron, Nico Verbruggen says the original font was “manually edited using FontForge.” (GitHub)
He says many letters, numbers, punctuation marks, spacing, kerning, and accented characters were redrawn or refined manually across the four styles. (GitHub)
The build process uses regular font-development tools such as FontForge, fontTools, Python scripts, and ttfautohint.
I care way more about if something works or not. And this font works great on my ereader, so I don’t care how it was made. But I don’t see anything that suggests it was made by AI.
