Case filed at ICC to prosecute Israeli officials for incitement to genocide (Statewatch, 2024-12-10)
“A Franco-Israeli lawyer [Omer Shatz] has filed a case with the International Criminal Court (#ICC), calling for the prosecution of eight individuals for the crime of incitement to genocide: seven current and former high-ranking Israeli government and military officials, and a journalist.“
“Incitement to genocide and genocide are two separate crimes under the Rome Statute, … The submission argues that incitement to genocide must be independently investigated and prosecuted.”
“The submission was filed by the lawyer Omer Shatz, and compiled with support from a number of law students at the Sciences Po university in Paris.
