Europe@lemmy.ml•Army chief warns Britons will have to make ‘sacrifices’ to prepare for war
3·17 days agoHow many fucking sacrifices have we already made? Poor people get the life squeezed out of them while the rich simply get richer.

I’ve been on Lemmy for longer than your account has existed, account age doesn’t mean anything.
trying to dissuade voter turnout
No I’m not. You’re just reading what you want to read.
If progressives and leftists voted in primaries we’d have a progressive leftist Democratic party, but progressives and leftists don’t vote for the most part.
Complete nonsense.
But you know that since you’re not here in good faith anyway.
That’s rich coming from you with this complete stinker of a comment.
The phrase “typical democrat arrogance” gives you away, gotta stop using your fox news terms MAGAt.
lol pure desperation.

Then it gets met with smug ripostes like the “bOtH sIdEs” spongetext shit or plain mockery as if it’s something that just appeared out of nowhere.
It’s just typical Democrat arrogance assuming that they are entitled to peoples votes without having to offer any material change, it also ties into why progressive and leftist candidates have to struggle to break through because they’re fighting their own party first and foremost before they even get to fighting Republicans.

25·19 days agoThat’s really disappointing to hear (pun not intended). I’ve been looking for a pair of these earphones that are actually worth the money, because I got sick of paying for airpods only for them to fail within 2 years like clockwork.
Just throwing these things away is horrendous and I was hoping that fairbuds would be good.

Why do black cats always seem to have a small patch of white fur in that area? My kitty had it as well (RIP)

41·19 days agoFridges being hackable in the first place is beyond a joke. I think it’s a ploy for the manufacturers to gather data from people downloading apps and making accounts, thus is for the benefit of the business and not the consumer.

26·20 days agoMost other heads of state aren’t openly celebrating Nazi collaborators. It shouldn’t be hard to just not do that, particularly if you’re relying on foreign support to fight a war and crucially to counteract a narrative of your state being a Nazi state. Burying our heads in the sand over it hoping that it will go away is just a bad idea.

520·21 days agoSomeone should tell Zelensky to stop doing shit like this because it doesn’t help the situation.
Some things are better off staying buried. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a presidential decree on May 26 bestowing the honourary title of “Heroes of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army”, or UPA, on an elite unit of the nation’s special forces.
As the armed wing of the far-right Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), the UPA carved out a gruesome name for itself in the shifting borderlands between Poland and Ukraine during World War II.
It remains infamous in Poland for its role in the massacres of ethnic Poles and Jews in Volhynia and eastern Galicia – massacres that Polish historians believe killed tens of thousands civilians, and that the Polish state considers part of a deliberate campaign of genocide.
Zelensky’s decree was all the more striking for having the uneasy makings of a pattern. The day before, the Jewish president had presided over the reburial of the repatriated remains of Andriy Melnyk in the national military ceremony near Kyiv.
Melnyk, who died in Germany in 1964 and had been buried in Luxembourg, was the leader of a branch of the OUN – and a staunch advocate for collaboration between the Ukrainian nationalist movement and Nazi Germany and its fascist allies.

52·21 days agoCentrist politics are going up in smoke across the western world and liberals still refuse to see that their rigid adherence to the status quo has failed to address the issues of the day. They’ll never accept their contribution to the resurgence of fascism.

Just because Trump and Putin dislike the EU, it doesn’t mean that everyone who dislikes the EU is a MAGA republican or Russian bot. That’s how it reads.
Take Brexit for example, it had both support and opposition from right across the political spectrum. Like Boris Johnson, he supported Brexit but he was frequently in Ukraine and absolutely hates Putin lol
