There are a lot of protests in Hong Kong, but the Hong Kong protests was definitely after 2015.

Trade worth considering for Europe. Huh. So fuck the Taiwanese, if that’s good for Europe?
This kind of thinking by Westerners is why “multipolar world” as a concept is so popular.
the distills are good for their sizes but not even close to being comparable to the full model in quality
your comment is extremely lemmy dot world
why tf are you still on dbzer0
most significant corruption probe involves less than 100k euros lmao
StopKillingGames should quit their petition signature gathering and pool together some money to bribe MEPs
Also true: When you do 0 AI prompts, they all cause the same amount of emissions, which is 999999999 gigajoules.
Is the feature request page an astroturfing campaign or is there really such a pathetic crowd within Firefox’s userbase?
Firefox could’ve added Mistral or Deepseek and they could’ve made money charging for zero-data-retention inference on Mozilla’s servers. But no, they would rather to do free work for a marketing company (that’s what Perplexity is - they’re not even an “AI” company - their best products are finetunes of Meta’s and Deepseek’s open-weight models and these finetunes are somehow stupider than the originals).
device maintains a single connection to Google server
vs
every app maintains their own connection to their server
Can humans think?
It’s a math trick. Not a physical theory.
tariff = (export - import) / (<??? factor> × <another ??? factor that cancels the first one out> × import)
The only times anyone would use the asterisk as multiplication symbol are
\times
in LaTex), so they just use the asterisk insteadThe US government falls in the second category.
It kinda works you just gotta be careful with what you use and keep some human in the loop curating the outputs.
This meme was about training on model outputs. But would be nice if they got some trade secrets as well. Intellectual property is cancer and these IP-stealing Chinese companies, if they exist, are doing god’s work 😊 hope Indian companies steal from China next as well
The ball can quantum mechanically tunnel out to the true minimum. In this sense the local minimum is actually not perfectly stable.
Can someone explain why I am being downvoted and attacked in this thread? I swear I am not sealioning. Genuinely confused.
@sc_griffith@awful.systems asked how request frequency might impact cost per request. Batch inference is a reason (ask anyone in the self-hosted LLM community). I noted that this reason only applies at very small scale, probably much smaller than what OpenAI is operating at.
@dgerard@awful.systems why did you say I am demanding someone disprove the assertion? Are you misunderstanding “I would be very very surprised if they couldn’t fill [the optimal batch size] for any few-seconds window” to mean “I would be very very surprised if they are not profitable”?
The tweet I linked shows that good LLMs can be much cheaper. I am saying that OpenAI is very inefficient and thus economically “cooked”, as the post title will have it. How does this make me FYGM? @froztbyte@awful.systems
What? I’m not doubting what he said. Just surprised. Look at this. I really hope Sam IPO his company so I can short it.
No. Multipolar means everyone can have multiple independently powerful allies/enemies. It means India, ASEAN, etc. being powerful enough to step in and help ROC when westerners decide to abandon it.
