Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why are most religious people so easy to manipulate? (serious)
71·11 months agoWhy are most
religiouspeople so easy to manipulate?Targeted Propaganda creates an online echo-chamber where everyone thinks that they’re correct for obvious -to them- reasons (Selective reporting, lying by omission, no one reads the retraction etc.). Add to that the addictive and isolating nature of smart technology, the sense of community they find in their personal traits/hobbies/beliefs/interests and the fact that the rich are actively trying to destroy the middle and working class. That’s how you get someone from group X, who believes they are wholly correct and smart enough to not be manipulated by media, asking why group Y is so easy to manipulate. It’s not about characteristics of faith, or anything like that. It’s the people at the top, telling you it’s other members of your class dragging you down. Through the global media monopolies that they control. We’re all part of it.

2·11 months agoThat’s pretty cool man, respect that. Yeah, I get that 100%. Video Reviews can be pretty formulaic as well, good for stabilising an income if you can cultivate the audience. But, then it’s not something for you.
Because some of the games that I have played, I think there’s no denying that they’re bad games. I still like them though.
I suppose Ross from Accursed Farms does reviews that fit that category. Anyway, glad to see someone commit to something they care about and produce something of value consistently. Be proud of it.

7·11 months agoAre you just grabbing screens and reviewing stuff from your collection? Because that’s a lot of gaming, like I have played thousands of games over the last 27 years. But, I can’t game and write with that kind of dedication. Really respectable. Have you considered, cataloguing these and getting a blog? Or turning them into Youtube reviews? You gotta lot of material to work with here, all the hard work is done.

102·11 months agoWhy? Why is Canada engaging in a trade war started by the states, for their own selfish reasons? I swear Trump is just a Psy-op for a much broader plan.

1·11 months agoThat is absolutely not true and just part of the red-pills psyop to radicalise young men, who don’t actually understand what the welfare state is, or why it’s important. Kindly go listen to Joe Rogan on your next jog off a cliff.
I don’t mean that in a shitty way either. Low End Theory by Tribe Called Quest, Black on Both Sides by Mos Def and Madvillainy by Madvillain. Spin them start to finish with a decent set of headphones. Good Shit.
Listen to more music, bro.
Why isn’t one of those responses
“Yes, you can!” ?

4·11 months agoYeah like after World War 2, when the government imposed The New Deal and the economy worked and the middle class were able to exist and have a family with a single full time job whilst having 90% corporate tax for higher end earnings?
Or, during Reagan and Thatcherism when the government imposed the neoliberal nightmare that gave us the 2008 crash and put every single country in the world into debt we have never been able to escape and defined the future of the next 3 generations after GenX?
What about during Covid, when the world governments imposed “relief” through gifted billions to the ruling class as subsidies they never paid back?
The government imposed all of these. It’s not freedom if there is no class mobility. Dynastic wealth is monarchy. Lick the shit off the boots, like a good citizen and jog on.

1·11 months agoThe dollar is the global reserve currency, so yes, by default we focus in terms of US dollars. It is also American globalisation which created these people. There’s this cool new thing thing called History we in Europe study, it allows for current events to be contextualised. It’s a pretty hip thing with the kids, you can learn more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History.
Edit: There should not ever be an
average American billionaire.

6·11 months agoYeah, so imagine. Wild idea here, we tax the rich. To increase the income of the government. Who can invest in the working and middle class, who can then have disposable income to stimulate the economy. Just a crazy theory I have there that has been shown to work every time it’s been implemented. Crazy right? It’s been 50 fucking years, it doesn’t trickle down Reagan.

5·11 months agoYeah and all of the global corporations worth hundreds of billions that do business there everyday without paying tax and obfuscating revenue through being “based somewhere else.” We need a global corporate tax. Plain and simple.
