Writing Prompts@literature.cafe•[WP] We called them hydra, after the mythical Greek monster. The comparison was apt.

3·15 days agoI don’t mind the lack of interaction very much. I just wish there were more people posting prompts; r/writingprompts over on Reddit was an old hunting ground of mine for inspiration. I think I made it a challenge at one point to try and write a response to one prompt a day or something like that. Can’t do that here without content tho so I’ve been posting my own prompts, and now most of my energy is focused on keeping up with college and writing a fanfic. Also “quality prompts” is definitely subjective, I keep running out of ideas and just throwing stuff together lol.

Hey, of course. I’m usually not sure what the right balance of critiques/constructive criticism is and I know some people get chaffed the wrong way by it so I try to keep it limited (and also for my own sake lol) but if it was useful, I’m glad. Thanks for posting these! Your story is quite good.

Finally got around to reading all the parts! Thanks for writing all these. Fuck Nuke! I guess, I don’t really know what his crimes were. I quite liked the approach you had with Kerry healing Eternus, answered a lot of questions and raised a lot of implications. The time worm bit was a touch confusing, I’m not familiar with that theory, if it is one and not something you made for the story. Kerry was cool, and it makes sense that all the time travel was fucking up Eternus’s brain.

Whoops! Fowl play indeed. Thanks for pointing it out, and also thanks for reading. I am not familiar with Solomon’s keys actually, seems to be some sort of ancient grimoires? Sort of intriguing.

2·1 month agoYou bring up some good points; what are the rules? Only what the person physically touches with their body? How much of it is turned? The physics are also a really good point; how fast does the transformation occur?
The economic and political consequences are what I had initially imagined. Nations and corporations trying to get their hands on the person, either to stop gold value from inflating or to use the person for monetary or technological gain. Gold is very useful for electronics since it’s such a good conductor. I think it also has some uses in astronomics?

2·1 month agoI had heard this was a thing (which inspired this prompt) but I couldn’t find anything on it after a cursory search. Thanks for the links! It’s cool reading about this stuff.
