  • Having been to both I would say both are amazing but Budapest is your best bet for studying and enjoying a quintessential European atmosphere. Iceland is starkly beautiful but you aren’t going to able to see the whole country properly unless you do a week or two long road trip. It’s also considerably more expensive especially to eat out. People are kind but more reserved and distanced.

Budapest is a central hub to an incredible array of European trips that you can do on a weekend with public transport. Being in the east it’s also relatively cheap. It’s a big city full of young people, nightlife and culture with a rich history that you can walk to and experience every day.

  • I wonder if some day in the future emojis will make their way from casual conversation into business? I guess I already use things like 👍 in semi formal work chats - it’s especially useful as a way of ensuring a message isn’t read sarcastically or passive aggressively. LLMs seem more than happy to plop an emoji or two into a document.

Speaking of AI I’m already noticing that poor spelling, slang and the like are almost signifiers of a human. I wonder if ways of talking that distinguish us from AI will become more common or more valuable?

  • Interesting comparison. I don’t mind a sparse animation style, I think what bothers me is the animation used in these YouTube channels feels much more ‘procedurally generated’ and repetitive.

I could definitely have picked a better example, I just found the first one that popped up. It’s most jarring when it’s just a static shot of a cartoon toso swaying back and forth for like 10 seconds for no reason.
