I think I saw this on TV when I was a kid. All I gleaned from it was aliens were releasing CO2 and their knees bent the opposite way ours do. Thank you for mentioning the title, I always wanted to see it again.

It’s obvious what’s going on here. The majority of Republican leaders, along with a few democrats, are actually aliens from a warmer planet. They’re here to prepare Earth for the arrival of their civilization, who has already fled their dying world. They’re expecting their arrival in the near future.
The aliens that are already here have infiltrated government, traditional media, and social media organizations around the world and are working to ensure we ignore the science and continue dumping CO2 into the atmosphere. If everything continues “business as usual,” then our planet will be nearing perfection by their deadline.
One of the feasible ways we could cool our planet down is by using airplanes to spray aerosolized sulfates into the stratosphere. We’ve already been accidentally doing this by burning certain fuels. When “we” recently agreed to stop using such fuels, warming accelerated. Some human scientists have noticed this and believe it would be possible to spray the sulfates in the stratosphere where they would be more effective at cooling the planet and less environmentally damaging than emitting from the ground.
That is why they’re making a preemptive attack on chemtrails, although there is some internal disagreement among the aliens about whether this is the best course of action. One faction believes it is more straightforward to accelerate warming now, hence outlawing sulfate containing fuels and preemptively banning chemtrails. The other faction reasons it would be more disruptive to actually allow chemtrails for cooling purposes. Their thinking is that they could continue to prevent humans from cutting emissions, but allow the humans to artificially cool the planet. The level of CO2 would continue to increase, and then, for spurious economic or geopolitical reasons, the flights would be stopped and therefore the cooling mask pulled off, resulting in a sudden temperature increase. This could be more disruptive than the straightforward plan since it would be more chaotic.
As others have said, just a bit of shade on one panel can impact the entire string. Another weird idea is temperature. Are string B’s panels warmer than string A? The warmer they are the less they’ll produce.

You clearly didn’t follow my logic.

Unfortunatly I don’t have the means to help you, good luck.
If you want to have a romantic partner in the future then I suggest you figure this stuff out.

You could empathize with them, if they’re open to it then maybe ask why it keeps happening. You could also say nothing if it’s a stranger on the internet. If this person is important to you then yeah, tell better them how strong and brave they are and how stupid and mean that wall is. There’s a time and place for constructive criticism.
Who shouldn’t be taking care of themselves? Everybody and nobody. It’s supposed to work so that if you need help you get help and if you can help then you give help.

It’s a common trait of young people, often young men. I used to be one, guilty of it myself. “You’re the problem” stems from a lack of sympathy, because they haven’t had many bad things happen to them, emotional nuance, because they’re young, and lastly they’re taught to be independent and “solely responsible for their situations.” Therefore it’s extremely frustrating for people like this to care about others because someone who needs care is antithetical to what they’ve been taught, and they’re taking care of themselves so why can’t you, weak person?
I want to emphasize that people like this are not bad people. They are probably kind and caring and everything people should be, but they can’t stand people not taking care of themselves. They can learn, and I suspect most do when they get older.

then the ‘concerned’ people start invading it and want to sanitize it so that it’s ‘inviting’ to non-enthusiasts and they start policing everyone the way they police themselves. And their primary concern is not the idea or hobby, but it’s presentation being as ‘acceptable’ to as broad a spectrum of people as possible…
I’ve encountered this first hand with anti-tankies. I was questioning their concern about .ml, suggesting they were being counterproductive and were actually advertising .ml, and several people responded that they’re scared new users will find .ml and be so offended that they’ll leave lemmy. It seems ridiculous to me that an average user would care about retaining and maximizing users on lemmy. Why would someone care? It doesn’t make sense. This is lemmy, it’s never going to be cool. It’s where a bunch of nerds argue. People should go back to reddit if they want size and an echo chamber.

I’ve read that one, it was quite good.

This is an interesting idea. If neither biologies used the same fuel molecules then they wouldn’t compete for resources, but perhaps they would compete for space? But then if both biologies were that different from each other would they be able to even live in the same environment?

How did they get the social cooperation required to have this “big bang” of building? What happened to suddenly convince that many people to participate?

Perhaps this is the first step towards a new START treaty that includes the countries you mentioned? I doubt that’s Trump’s intentions but that outcome seems probable if everyone starts testing.
This whole privacy thing is based solely on belief? There’s no practical reason for it unless you’re on a state actor’s list or something?

Does this include parking garages?

Don’t plan on the world ending. You’ll be in a tough spot when it doesn’t.
Here’s my personal answer to that question. I care about privacy. However, maintaining it has become a never ending process that gets more complicated as time goes on. Plus there’s always more one could do. I’m not going to stop using payment cards, I’m not going to get a prepaid phone running graphene, I’m not going to whatever comes next.
I’m starting to think that my personal cost/benefit analysis is leaning towards not caring about privacy. What have I gotten out of trying to maintain privacy? Inconvenience and expense. What have I gained from letting the creepy corpo overlords watch me? A decent map app, autocorrect, 3% cash back at restaurants and groceries, facebook marketplace. It really seems like I get services and discounts for giving up my privacy.
I even signed up for that fucking global entry program so I can have TSA precheck and get through customs fast. I hate that. It feels so wrong but I’m growing increasingly sure it doesn’t matter. I’m not special, the government won’t care about me now or in the future, and the benefits of not caring outweigh the gains of trying to hide.
This is a terrible point of view, I know, but I just don’t care anymore. I like the idea of privacy, but I’m finding the practicality to be too difficult.

That’s not the message here at all.
It’s the downstream effects of your message that I’m worried about. We shouldn’t get sloppy with nuclear material. Suggesting that a little radiation exposure isn’t bad or a little water contamination isn’t bad, while perhaps technically correct, can lead to sloppiness and eroding standards. People should be afraid of radiation so they respect it.
I did enjoy that storyline
