My strategies have been:
- be big
- be mean
- immediately “go for the throat”
- oh shit oh fuck 1-3 don’t apply outside of childhood
- present their actions as extremely anti-social, and in doing so build a united front of people who are sick of their bullshit. In general bullies are cowards who are supported by cowards, and thus their supporters are easily won over by posing as a “strongman” figure they can get behind because they think that person will “win”. Without their base, bullies change their tactics because it’s all an attention-seeking front. This then throws them off their game because their confidence is based on a single approach (they’re not typically bright), which means they’re doing something they’re uncomfortable with. Once you’ve identified what that is, spread it through gossip so everyone knows it’s a weak point, then be the first to call them out on it in public. Boom. Now you’re the alpha with a pack, and they’re the beta with a……sack? (Oh yeah, also leave a burning sack of shit by their home)
Maybe ignorance- as in it sounds like something one would write as a child after first learning what atheism means
1·19 days agoDepends on the poorness of the people lol the continuum of saving money by making soup etc from scratch vs time saved from slopping together canned items. Only reason I can make the fuck out of a soup with whatever scraps and pantry items are on hand. I am an outlier though - I’ve long thought of opening a soup restaurant - or as these schmucks would call it a “liquid based dining experience” haha
Is a book club the correct approach then?
I ask because I was just thinking this with regards to theory in general. I usually have 45 minutes of bus time in the AM and PM, and was thinking that (or shorter) would be a good time to target for both reading and responding.
One thing I think could help is almost a polemical approach (or whatever the non-confrontational version would be). Like someone who’s read the text before offers some points on a section, and then others can support/refute those. But word/character limited so it’s not an exhausting process.
