Mummy Joe is a treasure and must be protected.

This dev was trying to sell his own game on his own site. A single player game. No steam keys. Just a download. And got threatened by valve to stop or be removed from steam. Illegal since that’s NOT in the contract he signed.

Yes here: https://www.wolfire.com/blog/2021/05/Regarding-the-Valve-class-action/
They have the proof in the claim, but I don’t know if it’s public yet.
I agree that steam should enforce STEAM CODE sales to be the same price, but this is just a download of the game. I hope steam just fucked yo here and misunderstood; otherwise, it’s completely anticompetitive and is illegal based on the contract the developer signed from valve.
Meanwhile, useful cats are just cats doing cat things, like chasing mice and rodents in the house or in a barn for barn cats, as they require much less training since it’s their natural instinct and much less maintenance since some don’t crave human attention constantly (for barn cats).

I hate the kiosks BECAUSE they removed a key feature that the POS can do: substitution at no cost. If you order a McGriddle, sausage egg and cheese, at the POS, you say “substitute” whole egg (the white and yolk instead of the folded egg), and it’s the same price. At the kiosk, at least 4 years ago when I last used one, when you want to do this, you need to add the whole egg for a cost, then remove the folded egg at no credit.
At chick fil a, when you remove ingredients on a sandwich, that amount actually gets removed from the cost of the sandwich. Fuck chick fil a’s profit spending, but their ordering system is the best for customers.

Or you could be like Seattle and just use compostable “plastic” straws. They have a slightly different texture to normal plastic, but they work and bend like normal plastic straws.

Antidepressants help sometimes!
If you’re extroverted, a wedding is worth it. It’s a time where all your extended family can gather and meet the other extended family, and possibly one of the biggest parties of your life. I had a blast. Our wedding planner kept asking if we were ready to go, but we stayed until the DJ left!
Also the honeymoon was a great way to start out our journey. We love traveling, and it was great to just have a week to relax after the stress of planning a wedding.
The one caveat I recognize is that we got lucky and didn’t have to pay from our own pockets for most of this. We also didn’t want to buy a house early on since we were going to move in a few years.

I’m only 31, but I really like bbno$, Sabrina Carpenter, AJR, and for non popular music and super queer, DAMAG3.
And then just a slew of random EDM whenever I’m in the mood.

This developer says that Valve threatened to remove their game because they were selling the game for cheaper on a non steam platform with non steam games. (This is the same company mentioned in the article)
It seems that most everyone would be fine with what you said as the steam agreement, but it seems like they are in fact acting monopolistically by requiring even non-steam DRM to have price parity. This is the only thing that needs to change, imo. I think this lawsuit is about showing that the “unwritten rule” actually does exist, and they are in fact being anti-competitive.

I didn’t even know CA had an exemption. Both states I’ve lived in always have the tax applied on software sales online.

Ragnarok was the only reason I bought a PS5. I also haven’t turned my PS5 on in almost 2 years.

Sales tax is a regressive tax. Thats my problem with it. It taxes the poor more than the rich.
So that just comes from tapeworms? Just give your dogs tapeworm prevention. It’s super common here to do it once a month, and it’s part of owning a dog.

Hmmm. It’s kind of weird that my work pays for every employee for a pro plan at $200/month for 10k credits. I use about 20k credits because I use it for my side projects and work all the time. That only costs the consumer about $600 total (with the $200). I wonder what discount they give the company employees, but also it’s kinda crazy with “how much AI costs” and how much they’re eating to get us hooked. Our company is hooked right now. They’re hoping they can keep this up until people forget how to program and not prompt maybe?
But right now I’m using it as a tool that I’m learning and not replacing my normal flow.
It would be great to not be this expensive.
My mayor too! She was the first politician that I canvassed for. I had a blast.

Meta is one company that I morally wouldn’t work for UNLESS they paid me 3x what I make now. One of my old managers just jumped to meta and is going to be making 2.8x what I make. I could suffer it for 2-4 years to buy and pay off a house…

My base pay is half what I get paid. I get paid my other half in stocks. It’s how big tech works.
Kinda funny that we’re looking at this on lemmy, 90% of us are on our phones browsing while doing random things.
It looks cool, but smartphones, good or bad, fill the void of riding the bus, waiting 5 mins for your next meeting, waiting for your partner to get ready in “5 more minutes”. I’m ADHD and this helps me just unwind.
I know it’s not for everyone, but it’s silly that this is being pitched as revolutionary.
