Well, when I started to use lemmy I had a few problems:

1. I read something on the landing page about “Mastodon account works too” so tried that, so basically confused fediverse, activitypub, mastodon and lemmy and wondered why nothing worked. Oops.
2. I tried to join a community that was meant to migrate away from reddit, but found two duplicates. So I wasn’t sure which one was the correct one. Ultimately the migration failed, even though it was a software oriented community
3. Then I soon wanted to make a new account on a server that doesn’t require an email. Because emails today are basically personally identifiable for security agencies.
4. Then I found out that socialists are called tankies on lemmy and some of the main socialist instances are banned by the limbrols. So I made a new account and posted a little and had an interesting discussion about voting in proto-fascist democracies and promptly got banned by the tankies. Oh well.
5. Then I had a discussion about how calling russian people “orcs” is racist. You guessed it, banned.
6. Well several accounts later, here I am, the last sane man on the internet and you all fucking suck hahaha

I do think lemmy is worthwhile and can be fun, but as a reddit alternative it has already failed. You cannot purge insanity by splitting it up into smaller insanlets. That’s just schizophrenia.

What we’d need to do is drastic reorganization of how we work and live and manufacture things. Things like:

1. Ban advertising globally since it increases consumerism. Regulate long term guarantees and repairs and interchangeable parts
2. Abolish all patents, in order to redesign the many thousands of industrial processes, legal hurdles have to be brushed away
3. Make industrial meat production illegal
4. Redesign cities to have all necessities within walking distance and no through traffic, similar to sovjiet style city planning
5. Make climate change denial or obfuscating a crime like hate speech
6. Nationalize all oil production

Of course, it’s career suicide to seriously discuss those points. That’s why we still get this inane babble from the “intellectuals”.

The sad truth is we simply don’t live in a reality that ever could have done anything about climate change. So it never even mattered if it was anthroprogenic or not. It was always like a physical impossibility, an economic-political impossibility.

I’d love to know how heavy and how aerodynamic a bike trailer can be and at what speed it can still be moved at certain points.

I was thinking about a bit wider trailer (~1.2m) and rather long (4-5m) but the top is like a hat or deep lid that can move down for transport or taken off. So you have less aerodynamics when moving. And enough width for a nice comfy bed that turns into a recylinging armchair with a topper. And solar.

But I’d want to pull it with a tadpole possibly with a 250W motor and still reach ~15kmh. This is all just fancy ideas so far though.

Yeah. And it’s not just how good the images look it’s also the creativity. Everyone tries to downplay this but I’ve read texts and those videos and just from the prompts there is a “creative spark” there. It’s not very bright spark lol but it’s there.

I should get into this stuff but I feel old lol. I imagine you could generate interesting levels with obstacles and riddles and “story beats” too.

This is still so bizarre to me. I’ve worked on 3D rendering engines trying to create realistic lighting and even the most advanced 3D games are pretty artificial. And now all of a sudden this stuff is just BAM super realistic. Not just that, but as a game designer you could create an entire game by writing text and some logic.
