Yea, my city started using tornado sirens for most decent thunder storms. So they are being used all the time. But there’s no way to know when it’s actually for a tornado…

It was more than that. I’m 1996 round trip tickets were 7500, about 12000 in today’s dollars. I can get a round trip ticket under 400 bucks today for NYC to LHR. So it wasn’t 3x, but 30x the price.

And most are willing to pay less even if it’s a 6 hour flight.

No, people die on planes all the time. Almost 3 million people fly daily, I’m guessing people die in flight almost every day due to natural causes.

I was at a party with a small group of friends recently. We were all talking in a group and then one guy started watching tik/insta/whatever with the volume on. Yea, but I would imagine the upkeep and maintenance on these, especially due to being in salt water, is higher than it needs to be. Simple is generally better for these things.

If you can live you life on 42000 I’d be impressed. I assume you mean 4x what you need yearly for a good life, daily? That’s more reasonable, but I think you’d still struggle at 42k a year these days.
