I meant like Tom’s black and white holonovels and the Hirogen WW2 episode. Those are great, even if the former falls under the same “uh oh, the saftey protocols are broken” stuff.

The only other holodeck episode that is super fun is the James Bond one from DS9 where they “win” the “game” by just letting the villain destroy the fantasy world so all the people trapped in the holodeck wouldn’t die.

Shit does get a little weird after Year of Hell, since they refer to it a lot. But they also refer to it at least once BEFORE that episode because time travel.

It’s the most action oriented Star Trek series. Or was when it was newish, anyway. Stuff is always happening, there are very few political episodes that just consist of talking, they do a bunch of fun shit with the holodecks, and it has an exciting premise.

It is my favorite series right behind Lower Decks for these reasons. Deep Space 9 is just beside it and not above or below, because I love it equally for entirely different reasons (it does the drama, politics and even religion stuff so fucking well).

I get what you’re saying, but I really miss shows that did re-enactments of actual events. That shit was funny as hell. Especially the ones on Operation Repo, which were re-enactments of entirely bullshit/exaggerated stories. Like the dude who took down a whole mob operation because he had to reposses a car. 🤣

At least the ones where the cat or dog start Fortnite emoting at the end are obvious.

I don’t think it works as well these days, tho. Chess is so fucking old that every possible combination of moves is well known and a good enough player would know the outcome of the game after the first move, so it’s less about intelligence and more about memory.

GO might be a better game. That shit is way more in depth than Western chess and actually takes strategy all the time over memorizing movement patterns.

Then he tries to stop you from claiming the Elden Throne because… He’s jealous? He’s lost his fucking mind over the fact you, a lowly Tarnished, managed to get that far? I really don’t know. It’s a bit confusing, well beyond other weird shit in a Fromsoft game, and part of it could just be how this game in particular was a collaberative effort with GRRM and there is likely a huge difference in what Martin wrote for the backstory, and how Miyazaki “corrupted” it.

It’s because Linux isn’t used widely enough. Nobody is gonna put in effort for the sake of 3 random customers. Which yields a catch 22: Linux isn’t appealing to a lot of people becsuse it lacks features/functions/ease of use, and nobody will add those features/functions/ease of use because not a lot of people use it already.

Holy fuck, really? The lack of working wifi or gpu drivers is why I never stayed with Linux for daily use outside of my media server box. And the last time I tried using it for my main gaming PC was over 10 years ago.

I know they assume right-handedness with the pointer’s orientation, but I dont see how they assume the method of locomotion. Nothing about the cursor itself would matter if you’re using a mouse, a trackball/pad, a controller, etc. 🤨

I don’t know if Windows still has this, but you used to have a shitton of options for the style of your cursor, including left-handed oriented pointers. And you could also download more. I used to have my hyperlink pointer as a middle finger instead of the default index finger. 😌
