Really? It looks quite alive to me, I would assume that pose and expression take some muscle tension to hold. But tbh, if there were wolves that big around me, I would carry a gun as well. You know, just in case, I’d rather look stupid than become the statistic anomaly.

  • What does left and right mean for you?

Going by its historic origins, progressives on the left, reactionaries and monarchists on the right, the Nazis were absolutely reactionary and thus far-right. They were only progressive where it suited them, like having women in factories freeing up men for the military.

Speaking purely of economic policy, left would be a collectivist economy and right an individualist one. In that regard, the Nazis were not quite far-right, as they favoured government intervention and influence, again, because of war efforts. They did a few token campaigns to appease workers, but didn’t limit or abolish privately held companies (as they wanted the rich and powerful on their side for the war). And you’d only get disowned if you happened to have the wrong ancestors, not because you were explotliting your employees.

  • that’s also something I won’t get over.

Not when you keep repeating that to yourself. Shit sucks, shit will suck for a while, but shit won’t suck forever. It is okay to grief and be sad about good things. But life has to go on. Do things, meet people, force yourself to do it.

It will get better, period. Right now, it feels like it won’t. But you are already reaching out here, that is working on getting better. Keep doing it, and in the meantime, head up, chest out, carry on.

  • If you are on a budget (which I guess you are): Get a cheap NanoVNA or similar device. <50€ straight from China. Or get a used SWR meter / antenna analyzer from the usual places (fellow hams, internet, flea markets). It will save you so much trouble, and it is really handy to have one. If you don’t, you can still do it the old-school way of receiving a known signal and simply looking at the outcome. But for that you need a known signal (or generate one). A friend with a radio, for example. Or a broadcast station. Or some local activity.

I built a mag-loop out of tinfoil and duct tape to try out an idea once, because that was faster than getting CST Studio to accept it. It works, because of course it does, but be warned that contact resistances are a bitch.
