I’ve been trying neck reining but she hasn’t picked up on it all the way yet. She def has training in it, but she’s prolly still figuring out me as a rider. She also hasn’t been ridden in like 7 years so she’s a bit rusty

My phone shit the bed and I decided to just install graphene on the new one. One of the biggest hurdles in degoogling. Now I’m slowly migrating my accounts away from Google. I can’t do it all at once because that’s just too big of an endeavor.

My mom has even started to degoogle a bit and is switching to proton for email and cloud storage. She’s learning a lot about privacy and cyber security from me butching about corpos and dumb end users at work. She had her Microsoft account hacked today and she called me from the store as soon as she got an unknown MFA prompt and I helped her secure her shit immediately. So proud of her. She went home after that and immediately started resetting passwords to literally all of her accounts for different things and even appropriately prioritized them. I’ve trained her well lol

I’ve had a life of endless suffering due to many things. When people tell me it’s all part of our loving God’s plan for me, I almost lose mind. If God exists, he isn’t loving. Inflicting such awful things on your children isn’t love. It’s abuse.

Least unhinged thing I do: request that people I know harass the fuck outta me to do chores. I’ll regularly have a friend remind me to go a chore after a half hour of gaming and I’ll begrudgingly go do the chore so I can go back to gaming.

Most unhinged: turn on angry music and think of people I hate to get energized and wound up by rage. Sometimes I’ll scream too. I have a playlist called Grrr that’s just all of my angry music but I’ll often fixate on one song.

Honestly wish I could accept the feeling. I’ve only felt like this a few times and each time it has been absolutely terrifying. Hoping my work with my therapist tonight helps make the feeling less awful. She said that trying to get rid of the feeling isn’t going to be a thing I can do, so all I can do is remind myself that I am safe even when my perception of things is out of my control

Right? It’s been a rollercoaster this whole time. She has exceeded everyone’s expectations and it’s so gratifying to see.

It also still feels unreal that she’s 100% mine now. It really hasn’t hit me yet. I’m afraid I’ll wake up and this will have all been a dream or some shit.

I do not treat her like a slave. We are partners. She is eager to please once her excess energy is worked out. She legit enjoys training and gets very excited to work. It gives her something to stimulate her mind and is great exercise for her. She’s incredibly intelligent and needs things to do to keep from getting bored. Horses that get bored enough can start cribbing, which can easily become an addiction and ruin their teeth and jaws.

As for her tack, I am using the most comfortable tack that I have. I’ve ordered special stuff to cushion her back and distribute weight evenly. If she seems stiff or sore, I don’t ride. Her bit is also a hackamore, which doesn’t go into her mouth.

When riding, we are both listening and observing each other. It’s part of the partnership and bond we have. I never kick her and I don’t yank on the reins. She’s very responsive to the subtlest of touches under the saddle and can even follow verbal commands which makes leg pressure and the reins kinda unnecessary.

I’ve spent two years nursing her back to health. There has been so much of my money and time and blood and sweat and tears put into her well-being. I will 10000% never do anything that could be detrimental to her health. I had her vet and farrier give her thorough exams to determine if she was in riding shape. I got the go-ahead and started up training again.

Riding builds top line muscles really well, which is important because atrophy of those muscles can cause pain, and a horse may lose the ability to carry themselves properly.

Tl;Dr: I care for this horse more than I care for myself. She isn’t a slave. She’s my partner and friend and everything I do for and with her are only things that will help her thrive.

It really was! I was a lil worried that she’d throw me and I wouldn’t be able to call for help, but after I worked with her on the ground, she was ready to go. She 100% remembers her past training, but hasn’t been ridden in like 6 years, so she’s not as broke as she once was. She can still be difficult at times because she’s grown lazy.

It’s obvious whoever trained her put in a crazy amount of work into her. I was told she was in training to be an endurance racer at some point. I don’t have any goals that high for her. I just wanna take her on trail rides eventually lol.

The mama horse gets violent when other horses try to see the baby. Sadly, they’ll probably never get to actually meet. Mama and baby are being sold and will be going away once baby is weaned. They’ll get good homes though. I heard Mama already has several people wanting her. I haven’t heard of any takers for baby, but idk if his sale ad has even been put out yet
