Oh, oooh, I think I get it, it’s like an anticapitalism bit. I reluctantly approve.

Three things, possibly all mashed together.
Scenery: Honey I Shrunk the Kids - making everything gigantic and just wandering around. If it was in the actual Trek setting, then it’d use scans of the last planet visited.
Recreation: The best goddamn writing tool ever. Being able to speak scenes out loud and have an actually-good non-sapient AI transcribe and interpret them reliably? Incredible. The sheer Dungeon Master Power of the holodeck cannot be comprehended. Same for making things, you could have almost any material summoned to you, make it yourself, and then have it physically replicated to that pattern. Wander through a volcano gathering materials.
The Dangerous Holodeck B-Plot: Experimenting with using the holodeck on the mind. Another poster mentioned telepathy, and it’d be interesting to use it to test out various things along those lines. Also an episode where the Delta Green game spills Mi-Go out into the ship, or giant holo-bees start a hive in the warp core - somehow sustaining themselves on the flargle waves of the blarganator and producing warp honey.

Blunt Force Rotation

And what I was told about the “bounder” one is that it keeps your hand close to being a fist, so you and your fellow ruffians can sucker punch some gentleman.
I’ve been reading around that topic myself.
Book: Losurdo’s Stalin: History and Critique of a Black Legend quickly gets to the point of “something shifted in the perception of Stalin, why?”. Somewhere else pointed out that he primarily uses sources antagonistic to Stalin to show that their own arguments are often contradictory (though of course Stalin isn’t without some serious actual faults).
This article about Stalin from a US journalist does a good job showing him as a rather modest human.
