I’ve only seen better benefits, pay, and protections over the last 20 years. Not sure what to say.

Worker benefits are better than they were 10 years ago, and way better than 20 years ago. Wages have gone up, and keeping pace with inflation with varying degrees of success over the years. People work less than they used to is what I’m saying. I work less than my parents did and I think it’s a good thing. But the economy will slow down because of it.

You can’t compete with a nation that doesn’t feel bad about exploitation of workers. If the workers cooperate then you can get a crazy amount of productivity out of them. The united states is losing its power because we aren’t willing to work as we used to. It’s a tradeoff, but I’m fine with it except that I’m not sure I trust China/Xi Jinping as the world’s superpower. He eliminated term limits when he took power, and I’m sure has no intention of going anywhere for a long time. Everyone so busy celebrating Trump looking bad, but forgetting that it could be and will be a lot worse for the western world under a Chinese dictator.

Yes, please screw the entire world economy and use it to fund global jihad. As long as it embarrasses Donald Trump then it’s worth it.

I reserve my dislike for people who feel obligated to express their petty and useless opinions, but you do you.

That makes more sense

I was curious why they didn’t mention Israel or Lebanon and so I read the article and concluded that it’s because it’s not about Israel or Lebanon.

Blows my mind that people cheer on Iran. Is it just a simple, anti trump, anti Israel reaction?
Casinos are a parasitic and non-value added industry, exploiting lower classes and without any material gain.

I think that’s only if you are registering to vote in a different precinct, if you aren’t already on the voter rolls in that area. Basically whenever you move. I’m not sure how other countries handle it when you move.

Your country probably requires voter ID if you aren’t from the United States…

Uhh, seems like it’s way more “fashionable” for Europeans to bash the US if anything.

Lots of black people and Hispanics voted for him, and i don’t think they did so because they were racist. They had other reasons.

You think 40 percent of Americans voted for trump because they are racist?
No that’s my more thoughtful cousin. I think the simplest solution is to burn it down.
Safe spaces are a micro border, a way for people to separate themselves from other people for their mental health. Should they be allowed to do so and does that have any relevance to the larger discussion about borders? I think it does. I think people instinctively want borders to protect themselves from others who might mean them harm. It’s natural and inherent to humans. Just curious what you thought, given your stated stance on borders.
How do you feel about safe spaces
I’ve heard crazier things on lemmy, but I think it’s sarcasm in this case.
If you have any requirement for entry then it’s not really an open border and you need some kind of enforcement to enforce those requirements.
That’s not what I said
