3·19 hours agoIt was a joke that you seemed to take very seriously. The pun of the joke was that since Sweden and Finland have been rivals for centuries, ranging from wars, to sports, it would be rather awkward for a Swedish person to live in Finland. I know that this is not true, I’m fully aware that both countries have thousands of people living in the other country and that generally speaking, this is not an issue. This was again, a silly joke that did not reflect any truth. I hope you have a terrific Friday!

Technology@lemmy.world•The October inflection point for vibe game developmentEnglish
22·21 hours agoThe reason is money, not creativity. If the money spent on tokens doesn’t yield a profit, nobody would be releasing 5 games a week.Edit: didn’t realize that it had already been mentioned. I’ll change to something else to avoid parroting;
You should give it a try and see find out yourself. The issue is not that people vibecode their own games, who cares. Let them enjoy themselves. I believe that the fun part is watching your game come alive and tweaking it to your preference. The issue is rather that a lot of people choose to publish them, which I suspect is because of the potential profit it may have. My question is why aren’t there a website where people can share, or even sell their vibecoded games for those interested? That would benefit all since sharing assets, prompts, MCP, and what not, would lower cost of spent tokens.
Edit 2: A quick search answered my question. Apparently there are multiple websites dedicated to serve this purpose already.

3·1 day agoThis has no relation to technology whatsoever. Neither Meta or zuck are relevant to anything besides spreading misinformation and interfering with elections around the world. As for the other clown, he’s famously quoted by “it’s all computers!”, and single handedly decided to change name of AI for some recently developed unknown namechanging kink.

2·1 day agoYou are weird and make no sense what so ever. But since you seem to enjoy adding random images that has no context or relation to anything, I’d like to do that too. Here, on the house.

Oh, I see! I’ve never seen pet food marketed in that way before. I guess the strategy is to play on how humans tend to apply humanistic traits to animals, but It’s very strange and weird nonetheless.

21·2 days agoIs your previous point then that this is a private company, rather than FOSS?
Isn’t the marketing directed to the dog owners (humans) to disclose what animal produce their product (I.e., “chicken flavored”) contains, more than advertising a distinctive taste as usually the case with human targeted edibles?

72·2 days agoMaybe I’m confused here but if you’re seriously questioning whether you’d benefit from a smaller, Swedish based service over an American tech giant (unsure if this term applies to Discord in all honesty) - for starters you have the Swedish laws/consumer rights, GDPR. This company’s whole idea also seems to resolve around being ‘basically like Discord’ - but without all the aggressive data collection, fingerprinting users, storing messages, and profiting from users data. I also took a quick look at the ToS and PP and it seems pretty solid what their ideals seems to be, or what they want to advertise themselves as. But hey, I bet using a US tech giant company with its entire business model focused on making a profit from user data in the year 2026 is just as good for data privacy respecting laws and regulations as any other!

28·9 days agoThe funniest thing about the recent Epic nonsense is that Steam will most likely choose to not validate this by making any statements, and still gain from this without lifting a finger.
There’s your answer. Religious views often lacks that crucial nuance of logic, usually when the point is to blindly place your trust for the future (in some mystic all-knowing, always good-natured spirit) or to serve as some kind of soothing explanation for things hard to find a reason for, are conflicting, like in your example.
My personal opinion is that some people need that comfort in order to cope with things beyond their control. The same lack of scientific/reasonability that is confusing is at the same time the comfort they need. To someone who isn’t sold to this mindset, it can easily lead to confusion and frustration, because it simply goes against any logic applied in any other context in a modern society.
The whole ‘god has a plan for everything’ feels like basically what this statement stems from. The idea that as long as you stick your head down and stay in line, a higher spirit will apparently at some point suddenly decide it’s time to interfere with humanity and see that those who obeyed the (religious) rules will be rewarded and the bad people (I.e., who ever that doesn’t share the religion’s specific morals) will finally face justice. It’s a comforting idea if you are open to it, kind of in the same ballpark as placing your trust/hope in a mythical idea of a structural, global revolution that just happens to support your specific ideals. Only difference is that the latter is scientifically possible to theoretically happen at least.

But it comes with such weight if you do!
