Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the concept of lesser evil? (i.e. when faced with selecting from two immoral options, the less immoral one should be chosen.)
11·1 个月前But why? If you had the choice of getting stabbed with a pin or stabbed with a knife why would you ever abstain or not choose the pin? It just doesn’t make sense.

1·3 个月前You’re also making assumptions in that the volatile memory lost power and thus must have been cleared at some point. I dont think there is a right or a wrong based on the knowledge i have I just am throwing out a random guess.

11·3 个月前On embedded controllers you are usually heavily limited with nonvolatile memory.

114·3 个月前If the data is temporarily stored until it is transmitted and then is not considered to be needed anymore I see no reason as to why that would need to be stored locally forever.

1619·3 个月前It is possible that the data is just never saved in non-volatile memory meaning that once power is lost that the values are also lost. In which case its not really deleting the information but rather just that information is just never intentionally saved.
P.S. I am not a tesla fan boy just wanted to give this tiny insight.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What book did you read last and what book are you currently reading? Would you recommend either of those books?
2·3 个月前Last was war and peace, would recommend.
Currently “reading” Wisconsin • Minnesota | Midwest Bouldering Guidebooks to plan for an upcoming trip to devils lake. If you plan to go climbing there the book is awesome if not it would still be cool to page through if you are interested in climbing.

Technology@lemmy.world•Scientists make game-changing breakthrough that could slash costs of solar panels: 'Has the potential to contribute to the energy transition'English
21·3 个月前You are at least completely and utterly wrong about tracking solar not typically being built anymore. Any major solar site uses tracking if you have a couple acres on a corner maybe not but I think you are being a bit too general. Panels are only one of many costs per solar panel installation, its still cost effective overall to increase efficiency.

2·4 个月前3 years for my wife and I.
Probably 6-7 if we take money out of retirement accounts.
We have been very fortunate in circumstances. Spend about 2.5k a month. In mid twenties.

5·4 个月前What makes you think they are mutually exclusive?
I think this is a limited viewpoint, its more grey than you are making it out to be.
The lab I worked in during college had a project that was very similar but used the antennae.
The more I think about it doesn’t trump just want to raise taxes without explicitly raising taxes.
There are plenty of people who never did that at all.

False headline are not fun, a Pelican using the ground effect had to be way not efficient.
