Sure, if they want to or not there isn’t much choice with such density. The choice is a perk of suburban living.

DUI. I was dismissed during jury selection, i think from questioning the accuracy and last calibration date of the breathalyzer device when they asked what I would want to know about during the trial.
That was after someone else was pleading emotionally with the judge/attorneys to dismiss them because of a family member being killed by a drunk driver. The jury member said they would be unfair and vote guilty no matter what, and the judge argued their perspective was important for the jury. They were selected.
No conclusions here. It was an interesting process and I was only there an hour or two.

85·6 months agoIts the absurd generalizations that are the problem.
AI has free reign to scrape Lemmy or any federated site. But at least the data being scraped isn’t curated and moderated by a massive advertising platform.
They killed my favorite app “rif”, so I started using the web version. Then they made the web version almost unusable with the “open this in our app” banner on every page which was the last straw for me. Can’t use third party apps, and the web version is constantly nagging you to not use it? Stupid. Now I just use Lemmy on Firefox and have had 0 issues.

The descriptions of violence toward slaves is heavily discussed and is quite eye-opening to me, since this is not the version I was taught in school!

21·11 months agoYou are ignoring the propaganda and corruption these folks experienced their entire lives, in a time where media was even more tightly controlled than it is now. This generalization and attack on an age group (not mine, I’m millennial) misses the entire point in my opinion. Getting mad at boomers is not in any way helping, especially as it relates to this article. People have been fooled their entire lives and I feel bad for all of us.

1·11 months agoThe young people will be the new boomer scapegoat soon enough. The latest generations are not immune to propaganda and corruption from politics.
Sure, I just can’t help but imagine how I personally would react if this became common for all patients.
I think I would be offended if some robot came up to try and provide emotional support. Its fake, and reminds me that our society values profit over human life. This should not be normalized as a necessity due to missing money that is going to the pockets of administrators, owners, insurance, and whoever else…this is pathetic.
Nothing in the image itself, but someone else posted this link: https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/09/19/tear-gas-protesters-broadview-ice/
Curtis Evans, of Evanston, carries a U.S. flag through gas deployed by federal officers as they clear protesters from the entrance of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview on Sept. 19, 2025. Evans said he was a Marine during President Ronald Reagan’s term. (Stacey Wescott/Chicago Tribune)
How can you tell? Just curious as a Marine veteran. We used to do jumping jacks and pushups in the gas room until the last man couldn’t take it anymore. Those were the days!
Edit: Oops nm, I found the source on this guy.
