I was always a fan of just tossing a bunch of spices in there. The big ones were chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, basil, oregano, and cumin, but I’d switch it up every time just to keep things fresh.

As much as I hate Dilbert’s creator, he got something right with the joke where you always have to give your boss 2 choices - one that you already chose beforehand, and another that’s only there for the boss to reject so they think they contributed.

I think it’s funny that one of the most well-known ancient pieces of writing is of a man complaining that he was sold cheap copper, and here we are over 3,500 years later still thinking merchants can be trusted. Flock was never going to serve the common people when they can make so much more money serving the wealthy instead. When someone chooses a career in making money over all else, the only thing you can trust about them is that they will drop everyone and everything for a buck.

That’s a good start, for sure. I’d have them talk to their neighbors and spread the word. From my experience with farm country, they often have that small-town effect where things like this can spread quickly. You don’t happen to be looking in southern Minnesota, do you? If so, I know some farmers myself that I could talk to.

Going through the realtor probably wouldn’t work, yeah. I’d hope some people would be more open to talking than the guy you met. My sister and I ended up selling our mom’s old house to a neighbor’s son, who wanted to live close by because of his mom’s old age. He just walked up to us when we were doing some yard work and asked if he could talk to us about it. Not sure how polite it is to do that, but it worked out in that scenario.

Humans are greedy when they’re dealing with faceless numbers from people they don’t know. They might care that you want to use it for farming purposes if you showed up at their door and talked to them about it, but otherwise they’re just trying to sell to whoever for as much as possible.

They’re bad because the path that led to Trump began a long time ago, but nobody cared until something bad happened. We must identify situations that have too high of a risk to cause something bad to happen, like unsafe driving habits, unchecked capitalism, and prejudice, and find ways to prevent them before something bad happens. The world can’t function by only reacting to bad things when they happen - it has to work to prevent them.

All AI is slop, yes. Slop is anything made automatically without purpose, and while the human might have written a prompt with purpose, the computer can’t apply purpose itself. Fun fact: this also applies to factories churning out physical slop as well! I’m always down for a good photoshop, though - even a bad one is fine!

That’s like saying that technically you can drive your car into a lake; nobody’s going to do it except by accident. Investors invest solely and specifically to get a return on their investment, regardless of what they might say their reason was. They want as big of a return as quickly as possible, and will make whatever changes they need to in order to make that happen. They don’t even think hard enough to find other more ethical avenues that might not destroy the world if they don’t give as big of a return that destroying the world would give.

The thing is, people don’t blow up on other people for being ugly. People do blow up on other people for calling out their unacceptable behavior, though. This person’s looks aren’t what they’re upset about, it’s just a socially acceptable reason they can use to vent their frustration about being called out for something else.

An inventor. I was so sure I could make flying cars just by strapping a few downward-pointing jet engines to a regular car. The only thing I ever actually invented was a pen (by breaking and taping together parts from multiple other pens).

The thing you need to understand is that the average conservative thinks about themselves way more than they think about others. If something bad happens to everyone, they see it as a huge issue for themselves, and maybe a bit of an issue for other people, too. If something good happens to everyone, they see it as maybe a slight improvement for themselves, but probably a major windfall for other people.

This leads them to think that they’ve been slighted by everyone at every turn, and that they have to fight to take good things away from others and give them to themselves in order to regain “balance” based on their own totally unbalanced account of what happened. They think they’re being fair, only because they have no ability to think objectively about their own experience at all.

Yeah, I remember having a conversation with a republican classmate of mine, who insisted that everyone has to vote only for their own personal benefit, since that way everyone gets exactly one vote to represent themselves, no more, no less. He refused to believe that some people need more help than others, and might deserve for someone to vote in those people’s interests rather than for making their own privileged life better. The complete lack of compassion just to uphold an arbitrary sense of “fairness” was astounding.

Sounds like patient zero in a sci-fi robot apocalypse movie.
