I appreciate the vote and have thought about giving it a shot after I graduate but I’m for real up to my neck in real life rn (turns out it’s not easy to find correct alternator parts!) and arguing about fighting for better site culture is an enjoyable break in a way, believe it or not.

I don’t really have the energy to dig into this again but people should know that this is actually not true. A site admin called it the holocaust emoji and then apologized for it later, calling it a glib comment. I’m not trying to target anyone or call anyone out in particular, it’s just that it’s an alarming echo of Zionist talking points that I encounter regularly IRL and I think it’s an indication that some of the people running this site need to self-critique.

Which again, if the emoji is really not a big deal then why the intense pushback and accusations of anti-semitism over it? And it turns out, a few dozen pixels were actually a lightning rod for reactionary tendencies, I mean, charitably speaking, it revealed that some people with mod powers are accidentally tailing Zionism, which, I don’t understand how that’s not concerning in August 2025.
