Literally anything written by Lu Xun, I enjoyed his short story Medicine quite a lot, he’s consided one of the greatest Chinese authors of all time and he was a favorite of the early CPC.

Xiao Hong’s field of life and death was another book I enjoyed, it revolves around a peasant village pre and during WWII. It’s incredibly inciteful into the lives of everyday peasants during the timeframe, I consider it a must read if you want to study the CPCs revolution.

I do need to give content warnings for Fields of Life and Death, it contains an incredible amount of different forms of violence.

I really like toast as a breakfast, it’s light and easy to make with no cleanup and you can put a variety of stuff on it.

I ate the same breakfast for almost a year, two pieces of toast with peanut butter. I’m on a cut right now so I stopped eating the peanut butter but two pieces of toast is still a nice little carb boost in the morning

Yea but this is something that kinda just fell into my lap. I’m at the end of a STEM degree with a minor in Chinese and have 3 years worth of language learning.

I visited Beijing over the summer and I wouldn’t call myself fluent but was able to hold conversations with most people and probably would have been able to get by eventually if I stayed.

The only reason I would probably be able to move there is because they opened up K Visas for STEM majors and my language proficiency.

Mmmm ok I am in college in STEM fields and this has come up pretty often with my classmates. I’m pretty happy that most of them have been very uncomfortable working for the MIC, not a single one of them has been excited at all about these kind of job opportunities, even the more conservative ones are grossed out. We would be making the physical equipment though not the software so that might make a difference in how they perceive it.

Everyone has seen what our weapons do and if this person still wants to go contribute to that then idk what you can say to them that’s going to change their mind.

I would probably just bring up the morality of working at such a company and go from there. If they actually listen you might be able to have a bigger conversation but if they deflect (well someone is going to do the job ect ect) then they don’t care.

As you noted in your post, the mainstream anti Israel voices are anti semitic, until a “left” political voice with prominence comes out and detangles peoples perceived associations between Israel and the Jewish people, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to get the average person to listen to you.
