I had family in town visiting a while back. They brought their RV and were staying at a nice park by a lake. While there I decided to walk my dog down one of the paths to the lake. When we reached the edge of the water we stood there for a second and he started sniffing around. For whatever reason, I thought, “this would be a great place for a snake to be right now”. As I completed the thought I looked towards my dog and about 2 feet in front of him, where the bank met the water was a fairly large water moccasin. I locked the leash and pulled my dog back to me and then left. It was very surreal. If I had waited another 10 seconds I’m sure my dog would have ended up being bitten.

Bluesky is weird to me. I tried to use it for all of 15 minutes. One of the recommended feeds was called “Blacksky”, which is a feed specifically tailored for black users of Bluesky. I’m perfectly fine with that. I was, completely innocently, asking if there were other feeds based on race, similar to blacksky. I was threatened with a ban for racism. My question was very literally phrased “I see that blacksky exists, does the platform also have other race-specific feeds for users? Or only this one? It’s the only one that was recommended to me which seems strange for a new user.”
