I’ve tried living with my family, it was miserable. I’ve also lived with housemates, but I’m no longer a student and value the privacy and enjoy not cleaning up after numerous other people.
He screamed, loudly then sobbed through tears, at the foot of the table where the Epsom sat mocking him with it’s silence.

I mean Linux magazines in general were pretty niche, not all corner shops had them. I had to go to larger newsagents and decide which one had the most tempting cd on the cover that month.
It was pretty niche, most magazine racks in a corner shop would only carry a few of them.
There was a sort of rule at the time, for people with cd burners in their PCs. You would charge people for the 3-4 CDs which e.g. mandrake came on, but wouldn’t charge them for the time or software itself. So you’d “buy Linux” from your friends friend for a few quid.
I have a handful of friends I’ve lent around a grand to before, one considerably more than that. With a repayment plan set up, which was followed, but I don’t really know or care what it was used for. Avoiding high interest rates on credit cards I assume.
That’s not how it works in the UK. Everyone progresses through school regardless of how you perform.
In the UK I’ve previously heard it called a CRB check, but seems it’s been updated to DBS now

A teapot, no. A racecar, sure, did it a while back and then basically stopped talking about it.
A model of road utility. Roads don’t look like this and aren’t used like this, so anything this proves has little to no bearing on reality. Yes, cars take more space, but they’re also doing a completely different task than a bus or a bike. The use case of using any mode of transport to go a short distance in a straight line and then stop is pretty contrived.
Guessing it could be venomous sounds pretty reasonable. Being locked in an enclosed space with an unknown Australian snake? No thanks.
